A LOOK BACK ON THE WAY FORWARD.
It all began in Düsseldorf. Hermann H. Raths founded the HOBEMA machine factory here in 1938.
With the sound instincts of an innovative entrepreneur for what is technically possible and what will be necessary in the future, he laid the decisive cornerstone for later success: He concentrated his medium-sized enterprise on a very specific segment of machine construction, on paper converting machines for products for daily use.
With a great deal of skill and his characteristic perseverance, he was able to develop HOBEMA into an internationally successful operation, despite serious setbacks as a result of the Second World War. Due to HOBEMA's good workmanship, acknowledged technical know-how, and consistent further development of the product range, they played an increasingly important role in the international marketplace.
As a result of a steadily growing demand for HOBEMA products, the main facilities offered no further possibilities for expansion. In order to be able to process the increasing volume of orders, capacity had to be increased. Thus, in 1972, HOBEMA was moved to neighbouring Dormagen.
Today the machines are assembled almost exclusively with CNC precision machines in a modern, 5.625m2 production facility. Experienced design engineers work with customers in a permanent dialogue on solutions, reaching the highest levels in concept, execution, and quality of workmanship. With HOBEMA's clear expertise and competitive advantage, they are more than confident about the future.
